Jo & Finbar
Jo grew up with dogs, cats and horses and this site is named after Finbar, her black Labrador Retriever who sadly passed away in 2021. It was Finbar who gave Jo the idea to start offering home boarding to like-minded owners who didn’t want to put their dogs in traditional boarding kennels; friends had also asked Jo to home-board their dogs, so Finbar’s Friends was formed. Finbar who was born in October 2009 really enjoyed all his friends visiting, and was equally at home with the smallest ones, young or old, he loved them all!
Seren, also a black labrador retriever, joined Finbar in August 202, at 8 weeks of age. Seren was lucky to have 8 months with Finbar and has big paws to fill!
Most owners find it really hard to leave their dogs when they go away, but home boarding provides a good solution if you do not have family or friends who can look after your dog when you are away or at work. It is the nearest thing to how your dog normally lives in its own home environment and all the dogs that come to stay seem very happy to return!
Finbar’s Friends is Licensed by Cheshire West and Chester Council (License No:21/AB/074) for home boarding of dogs, both for day care and overnight stays, and also has the required insurance. By being licensed, you know that a high standard of care is provided, which gives you the owner peace of mind.
When Finbar was younger, he and Jo regularly attend dog-training classes; their experiences there are very handy when having visitors to stay!
